It invites artists to consider how fractures—whether emotional, spiritual, cultural, or physical, can be generative sites for reflection, reinvention, and healing. Through personal stories and collective histories, we aim to present work that grapples with these moments of rupture, allowing audiences to navigate the complexity of repair and wholeness.
‘Of Faith and Fractures’ explores this delicate interplay between the sacred and the fragmented, inviting a diverse group of Muslim artists to examine the spaces where belief and identity converge, rupture, and transform. Through film, audio, photography, installation, and textiles, these works navigate themes of belonging, displacement, family, and the intersections of faith and selfhood.
Opening on the first night of Ramadan, this exhibition marks a time of reflection, ritual, and renewal. In moments of rupture, what remains? What is reshaped? And how do we hold onto the light within the fractures?
Visitors are invited to remove their shoes before entering, stepping into a space of reverence and contemplation—an act of humility that echoes sacred traditions. An audio piece by our artist Yasmeen Soudani (MUSYS) immerses you in the weight of devotion, disconnection, and the quiet resilience that binds these works of art together, shaping the atmosphere of the exhibition.
