We Fear No God, But Ourselves
is a physical extension of Ashraf’s sophmore publication & debut monograph of the same name, a personal reckoning told through photography, poetry, film scripts and journal entries. After being outed and banned from his birth country in 2024, Ashraf’s work explores sex, shame, worship and the ways queer desire is shaped by survival.

What unfolds here are fragments. Moments of collapse, longing and performance. Across the installation, imagery and found materials guide the viewer through a tender undoing of self, where concealment, confrontation and faith collide.

We Fear No God, But Ourselves marks his first solo exhibition and accompanies the release of his second publication, a hybrid monograph that blurs the line between memoir and fiction.
